Driver Education
All new drivers are required to take this course in order to obtain a driver's license in Maryland, regardless of age. It consists of 30 hours of classroom and 6 hours of driving with a certified instructor.
Driver Improvement Program
Typically, this class is for those who have been cited for a moving violation(s) or applying for license reinstatement. It is usually assigned/referred by the MVA and/or court.
Safe and Sober Program
This class is required for international driver's license holders. This class is NOT for DUI/DWI offenders.
Young Driver Improvement Program
This class is for young drivers under the age of 18, with multiple traffic violations. This program differs from regular DIP. YDIP assignment letters are usually yellow.
